September Golf Tournaments

September is a month that many players use a consolidation period. They are aware that the Majors are over and done with another year and they will be concentrating their efforts to gain as high a position as possible in their respective Orders of Merit.

For the first time this season the European PGA have created an Order of Merit race known as the ‘Race to Dubai, where the top 60 in the Order of Merit will qualify for a new World Championship tournament. The inaugural event takes place in November 2009.

On the USPGA tour the players attention will turn to the Fed Ex competitions, where they play two tournaments in September and they also play one in their Fall Series.
